Aqua Ninja Class

Get ready to swing, climb, and conquer the course in our brand-new Aqua Ninja Cross classes! Designed for ages 10–15, this 6-week aquatic adventure challenges kids to build strength, agility, and confidence.

Time Trials kick off and wrap up the season, with weekly focuses like grip strength, swinging momentum, and obstacle mastery. Whether you’re tackling the easy side or going full beast mode on the difficult side, every ninja will have a chance to shine!

Swim Lessons

Powered by SwimFAST, our Learn to Swim Program gives children and teens the skills and confidence they need to be safe and successful in the water. Fishers Community Center swim lessons follow the SwimFAST curriculum and are led by certified SwimFAST instructors. Based right here in Fishers, Indiana, FAST has rapidly emerged as one of the state’s premier swim clubs, making this partnership a natural fit for our community. Classes are kept small, with a 4-to-1 student-to-instructor ratio, to ensure personalized attention and support.

You do not need to be a Fishers Community Center member to register; lessons are open to everyone, but members receive a discounted rate.

Age Groups

Preschool: Ages 3-5
Youth: Ages 6-12
Teen: Ages 13-17

Program Structure

Four progressive levels taught at the Fishers Community Center
Sessions run two evenings per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) for 4 consecutive weeks
Each child is placed in the appropriate level after registration, no need to choose in advance

Levels

Level 1: Water safety, relaxed submersion, assisted floatation

Level 2: Unassisted floatation, beginner stroke, treading water

Level 3: Streamline position, side-glide fundamentals, side-roll-side mechanics, sitting dives

Level 4: Freestyle (building from side-roll-side), beginning backstroke, complete diving progression

Registration

Swim lessons at the Fishers Community Center are offered in 4-week consecutive sessions, not as year-round enrollment. This means parents will need to register for each session they’d like their child to attend.

- December 3: Registration opens for the January 2026 preschool, youth, and teen swim lessons at 9:00 a.m.
- December 22: Registration closes at 9:00 am.
- Classes for the January 2026 session will be offered on the following Tuesday and Thursday evenings:

What should I know before our first class?

Know that the FCC Aquatic staff is excited to welcome you to our facility and begin working with your child in our learn to swim program! Our instructors are certified in the Swim FAST curriculum and are eager to build relationships and swimming skills with our participants! How should I prepare for our swim lesson?

Please send your swimmer prepared to swim each evening in a properly fitting swimsuit, hair pulled back in a ponytail or in a swim cap and goggles.
Goggles should not cover the swimmer’s nose. Children who are not toilet trained must wear waterproof swim diapers at all times. Using the restroom prior to class is also recommended.

What’s Swim FAST?

A learn to swim curriculum developed by FAST (Fishers Area Swimming Tigers) swim coaches. The curriculum focuses on teaching proper body alignment and mastering skills that create efficient swimming mechanics, allowing for longer, more sustainable, safe swimming.

How long are the swim lessons?

A lesson is 30 minutes long.

How long is a session?

A session includes two lessons every week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings over a month-long period.

Two lessons every week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings over a month-long period.

How much do lessons cost?

A session of swim lessons registration fee is $160 for members / $228.57 for non-members.

How do I figure out my level?

No need to register for a specific level, our aquatics team will evaluate and determine level placement.

What do the different levels consist of?

The Fishers Community Center is a learn to swim program powered by Swim FAST. There are currently 4 levels being taught at the Fishers Community Center.

– Level 1 focuses on water safety, relaxed submersion and assisted floatation.
– Level 2 focuses on unassisted floatation, beginner stroke and treading water.

When and where can I register for lessons?

Registration will only be available at specific times. While available, there will be a registration link on the Fishers Community Center Aquatics page.

If I’m a member but the child I’m signing up for lessons is not, do I have to pay the nonmember rate?

Yes, your non-member child would need to pay the non-member rate.

What if I miss a class?

You can attend our make-up Saturday lessons a maximum of two times during one session of swim lessons.

The available time for makeup swim lessons on Saturdays is 10:30-11:00am.

The Saturday class you attend must be within the same week of the class you missed.

You must reach out to FCC-Aquatics@fishersin.gov to let them know you will be attending the Saturday class prior to 9:00am the Friday before the makeup lesson. Once your email is received, you will be sent a link to register for the desired makeup lesson time slot.

What is the cancellation policy?

100% refund up to 13 days before start of activity
100% account credit up to 1 day before start of activity
50% account credit up to 7 days after the start of activity.

Do you offer adult swim lessons?

Not yet, but we will in the near future.

Do you offer private lessons?

Not yet, but we will in the near future.

Can I leave the facility while my child is in their swim lesson?

No, parents must be near their child during the lesson and accessible.

There will be seating available in the Aquatics Center and at Sahm’s Community Cafe for parents to wait at.

What if my child needs to use the restroom during their swim lesson?

The parent or guardian of the child will be notified and will need to accompany their child to the restroom and return them to the class. The Aquatic staff is not able to assist children in this way.

Where is the Aquatics Center located?

The Aquatics Center is located on the first floor of the Fishers Community Center (11400 Johnson Farm Way, Fishers, IN) past the indoor playground and Sahm’s Community Cafe.

Will there be more swim lesson sessions in 2026?

Yes! We are actively training additional instructors so we can expand our swim lesson program in 2026. This will allow us to offer more class times and welcome even more children into the FCC Learn-to-Swim program.
