Registration

Camp registration for 2026 will use the same registration platform previously used by Fishers Parks. Returning campers can log in using their existing account. When registering for 2026 camps, a prompt will appear that says “Share My Account.” Simply select “Accept” to continue with registration. New campers will need to create an account if they have not used the platform before.

Registration opens January 19 for Fishers residents and Fishers Community Center members, and January 26 for the general public.

Fishers residents get a discount on all camp locations besides the Fishers Community Center. Only Fishers Community Center members receive discounted pricing on camps hosted at the Fishers Community Center.

We’re excited to offer Fishers Summer Camp options at two HSE Schools buildings. We are working diligently to finalize exact locations and anticipate confirming them in February. We understand that registering for summer camps without knowing the exact location can be challenging, however, we recommend parents and guardians proceed with securing your camper’s spot for preferred dates and themes. If the confirmed location poses any issues for your summer camp plans, our team will be happy to assist you in finding an alternative camp location or full refund and waived $20 deposit. What are the camp hours?

– Half Day Camps: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
– Full Day Camps: 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

What should my child bring each day?

To help your child have a fun and successful day at camp, please make sure they bring the following items each day:

– Reusable water bottle (labeled with their name)
– Shelf stable lunch and snacks
– Sunscreen (applied before camp and packed for reapplication) (Weather permitting)
– Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
– Closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops)
– Backpack to carry their belongings
– Extra set of clothes

Please label all items with your child’s name. We recommend leaving valuables and electronics at home.

Are meals and snacks provided?

Fishers Camps do not provide meals or snacks, so we ask that you pack the following for your child each day:

– Shelf-stable lunch
– Two snacks (one for the morning and one for the afternoon)
– A reusable water bottle (labeled with your child’s name)

Are electronics allowed at camp?

We strongly encourage campers to leave all electronics at home, including cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, and smartwatches. Camp is a time to unplug, explore, and connect with others through hands-on activities and outdoor play.

What should my camper wear to camp?

Campers should come dressed for active play and outdoor fun! Each day, please make sure your child wears:

– Their Fishers Camp shirt (required daily)
– Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
– Closed-toe shoes (like sneakers) for safety during games and activities
– Clothes that can get messy — we’ll be painting, crafting, and exploring!
– A hat or sunglasses for sunny days (optional but encouraged)
– Layers on cooler mornings, especially in spring or fall

Please label all clothing and personal items with your child’s name.

Are staff trained in CPR/First Aid?

Yes! All City of Fishers camp staff are certified in CPR and First Aid. Safety is our top priority, and our team is trained to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency.

How are the campers grouped?

Campers are grouped by age to ensure they’re participating in activities that are safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate. Groupings may vary slightly depending on enrollment, but typically follow this structure:

– Ages 5–6
– Ages 7–9
– Ages 10–12

What if my child wants to be paired with her friend during camp?

Families can submit a buddy request through the City of Fishers Camp Change Request Form. This form is also used for other updates like canceling a week of camp or requesting a transfer. What is the camper-to-staff ratio?

City of Fishers Camps follow the American Camp Association (ACA) guidelines for camper-to-staff ratios to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all campers. Our typical ratios are:

_ 1 staff for every 5 campers (ages 3-4)
– 1 staff for every 6 campers (ages 5-6)
– 1 staff for every 8 campers (ages 7–8)
– 1 staff for every 10 campers (ages 9–14)

These ratios help us provide personalized attention, maintain safety, and create meaningful connections between campers and staff.

What are the payments and draft dates for Summer Camp?

– A $20 non-refundable deposit is required per child, per week at the time of registration
– The remaining balance will be automatically drafted the Saturday before the upcoming week of
camp.
– Payment must be received in full prior to the start of each camp week
– If an automatic payment fails by the designated deadline, the registration will be canceled, the
deposit will be forfeited, and the spot will be opened to another child
– Deposits are non-transferable and may not be applied to a different week of camp

What if I am placed on the waitlist?

If you are placed on the waitlist, we will monitor registration closely. When a spot becomes available, you will receive an email with instructions to claim your spot. You will have 24 hours to confirm your registration before the spot is offered to the next person on the list.

What are the Fishers Summer Camp bathroom policies?

At Fishers Camps, we prioritize camper safety, privacy, and comfort during all restroom visits.

– Campers are always allowed to use the restroom when needed—access is never denied.
– Campers are supervised appropriately, following a strict “groups of three or more” policy during transitions to and from the restroom for safety and accountability.
– Staff are trained to respect each child’s independence while providing necessary supervision and support.
– For Preschool Camp, all campers must be fully potty trained to attend. Staff are not permitted to assist with toileting or diapering.
– If your child has specific restroom needs or accommodations, please contact the Camp Manager so we can provide the best support possible.

What are the policies around field trips?

Field trips are a fun and enriching part of camp! Transportation is provided by First Student Transportation, and camp staff ride along to maintain our usual staff-to-camper ratios. Details, permission slips, and any required waivers will be shared in the weekly camp newsletter sent one week before your child’s session. Campers must follow all safety rules during trips.

Does my child get to participate in swimming or water play during Summer Camp?

Summer camp means fun in the sun—and plenty of chances to cool off! Campers will enjoy Water Play Days and Swimming Days throughout the season.

– Half Day Camps: Water Play Days will be announced in our Weekly Newsletter.
– Full Day Camps: Swimming Days will also be shared in the Weekly Newsletter.
– Enrichment Camps: Campers enrolled in Enrichment programs will not participate in swimming, but they’ll still enjoy Water Play activities.

What is the inclement weather policy for outdoor camps?

Safety is always our top priority. If severe weather or extreme heat occurs, we adjust camp activities to keep campers safe and comfortable. Here’s what you can expect:

– Indoor Activities: Campers will move indoors for games, crafts, and enrichment activities until conditions improve.
– Modified Outdoor Time: If heat is high but safe, outdoor activities will be shortened, and extra water breaks will be added.
– Communication: Any major schedule changes will be shared with families through our Weekly Newsletter or direct communication.
– Swimming & Water Play: These may be rescheduled or replaced with indoor alternatives if conditions are unsafe.

Our goal is to ensure campers stay safe, hydrated, and engaged—rain or shine!

What if my child has medication(s) they need to take during camp?

The following is required in order for campers to bring and take their medications at camp:

– Complete and sign a Medication Permission Log before any medication can be given
– Send medications in original containers, labeled with your child’s name
– Prescription meds will be stored securely; emergency meds (like EpiPens or inhalers) stay with staff. Older campers may self-carry emergency meds with written permission
– Staff cannot give first doses or provide OTC medications
– Parents may send OTC medications for their child’s use with a signed permission log
– If your child develops a fever, you will be contacted to pick them up
– Disclose allergies and medical conditions during registration and provide any action plans to the Camp Manager
– For special medical needs, contact the Camp Manager to set up an individual care plan

How can I get in contact with the camp?

Each campsite will have a dedicated camp phone located on-site. These phone numbers will be shared in the camp newsletter you’ll receive before your child’s first day of camp.

What communication will I get before and during camp?

We want you to feel informed and connected throughout your child’s camp experience! Here’s what you can expect:

Before Camp Starts:
A welcome newsletter will be emailed the week before your child’s first day. It will include:
– Camp location details
– Drop-off and pick-up procedures
– What to bring
– Campsite phone number
– Staff introductions
– Weekly themes or special events

During Camp:
– Weekly newsletters with updates, reminders, and highlights from the week
– Direct communication from the Camp Manager or Head Counselor if needed (e.g., behavior updates, illness, or emergencies)
– Photos or updates via email or app (if applicable)

What is the minimum age for camp counselors?

Are sports camps, like track & field camp at Holland Park, led by trained coaches?

Our Half Day Sports Camp is guided by enthusiastic camp counselors who bring experience and a passion for active play. For Full Day Sports Camp, campers will enjoy instruction from the skilled sports coordinators at the Fishers Community Center, ensuring a fun and engaging experience.

My child has a summer birthday. Can I register them for the age they are turning?

Campers must be of age by the start of the activity.

Is the 6:30 a.m. start time & 6:00 p.m. end time standard Full Day Camp hours, or considered “before or after care?”

Here is the Full Day Camp schedule:

When will school locations be released?

We’re excited to offer Summer Camp options at multiple HSE school locations. At this time, we’re still finalizing the specific sites and will share an announcement as soon as they’re confirmed. We expect to have all locations finalized in February and appreciate your patience as we complete this process.

If my child’s camp location is assigned to a school that is not convenient for my family, what do I do?

We will work with families to ensure that they are at the correct locations that work best for them.

Can we do a partial week of camp for a prorated price?

No, there are no partial weeks of camp.

If we’re unable to attend camp for any reason, can we receive a refund?

Here is our Cancellation Policy:

School Break Camps:
100% refund if canceled 13 or more days before the start of the activity
100% credit if canceled 1–12 days before the start of the activity
50% credit if canceled within 7 days after the activity has started if you have not attended camp at all

Summer Camp:
100% refund (minus the $20 non-refundable deposit per week) if canceled 13 or more days before the start of the activity
100% credit (minus the $20 non-refundable deposit per week) if canceled 1–12 days before the start of the activity
50% credit (minus the $20 non-refundable deposit per week) if canceled within 7 days after the activity has started if your camper has not attended camp

Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Do kids visit the host site every day that week, or just once?

Every day, campers are dropped off and picked up at the camp location. We will transport campers to and from their enrichment camps each day.

Are host site activities led by the site staff or by camp counselors?

Our enrichment camps are a variety of staff lead, vendor lead, or traveling to another location.

Are host site activities guided/organized, or free play?

All enrichment camps are a variety of guided/organized play or free play. More details will be announced in the weekly newsletters.

How will transportation be handled to/from the host site?

Field trips and special events are a fun and enriching part of the Fishers Camps experience! These outings are designed to enhance learning, build friendships, and create lasting memories.

Transportation:
-All field trip transportation is provided by First Student Transportation, a trusted and professional bus company
-We are committed to providing the highest level of supervision during all field trips and enrichment camp experiences. All camp staff ride the bus with campers, and we maintain the same high staff-to-camper ratios on field trips as we do during regular camp activities—ensuring your child is safe, supported, and engaged at all times
-Campers are expected to follow all safety rules while riding the bus, including staying seated, using quiet voices, and listening to staff instructions

What sort of safety precautions will be in place with activities at the host site?

We maintain required staff-to-camper ratios from the moment campers are dropped off until the moment they are picked up.

Many of the Enrichment Camps locations have their own summer camp programs. How will this camp experience be different?

Our enrichment camps are carefully planned with the vendors of the locations to ensure that there is a difference between the programs.

Am I permitted to join my child at the host site throughout the week?

If you need to pick up your child early, you’re welcome to do so at the host site. We’ll make sure the process is smooth and easy for you. Beyond that, we’ll be capturing photos and sharing updates so you can see all the fun your camper is having!

Will my child get to use the aquatics facility at the Fishers Community Center daily or just once throughout the week? How will this be supervised?

Yes! Campers will have the chance to enjoy the aquatics facility at the Fishers Community Center during their camp week. Swimming days are scheduled and fully supervised by trained camp staff and certified lifeguards. We maintain a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio in the water for added safety. Lifejackets are available for all campers, and those who wish to swim without one will need to pass a swim test first.

Will my child get to play on the Fishers Community Center Indoor Playground, Strengthened by Riley Children’s Health, daily or just once throughout the week? How will this be supervised?

We’re excited to give campers time to enjoy the indoor playground at the Fishers Community Center! Our team is working to secure dedicated times just for camp kids, so they can play safely and freely. Details will be shared in your weekly camp newsletter as soon as schedules are finalized.

Will my child be supervised while using the universal locker rooms?

Yes! Camper safety and privacy are our top priorities. When using the universal locker rooms at the Fishers Community Center, campers will always be supervised by trained staff to ensure a safe and respectful environment. We follow clear guidelines to maintain comfort and security for every child.

Can I send money for my child to purchase food from Sahm’s Café?

No, campers won’t need money for food purchases. Please send your child with a shelf-stable lunch, two snacks, and a refillable water bottle each day to keep them fueled and hydrated for all the fun activities.
